What to expect

 A full day covering Cape Town's best-known sights in a small group with a guide/driver in a shared minivan: Table Mountain, the Atlantic seaboard and Chapman's Peak, the penguins at Boulders Beach and the Cape of Good Hope.

 Why this tour

 Itinerary

 Pick-up from your accommodation in Cape Town between 7:30 and 8:30 am, a short drive through the city and a stop in the Bo-Kaap for photos.
 Table Mountain. Your ticket is included, so you go straight to the cable car boarding queue. You'll have time at the top for photos and a walk; your guide will tell you how long.
 Along the Atlantic seaboard through Bantry Bay and Clifton to Maiden's Cove next to Camps Bay, with the Twelve Apostles behind the beach.
 Hout Bay Harbour. Take the boat to Duiker (Seal) Island, or have a coffee and look around the market.
 The Seal Island trip takes about 45 minutes. If the sea is rough we don't recommend it, and your guide will advise on the day.
 A short stop in Simon's Town at the statue of Just Nuisance, the Great Dane who joined the South African Navy.
 Boulders Beach, to walk the boardwalk past the African penguins. Some may wander right up to you.
 The Cape of Good Hope section of the national park. Sailors called this the Cape of Storms because of the many shipwrecks. Your guide will tell you about the crosses for Bartolomeu Dias and Vasco da Gama, and you can take a photo at the Cape of Good Hope sign.
 Walk between the Cape of Good Hope and the Cape Point lighthouse, or take the Flying Dutchman funicular at extra cost. The warm Agulhas Current and the cold Benguela Current mix off this stretch of coast, which is why the sea and weather change so quickly here.
 Back via the Old Cape Road, past the painted beach huts used as changing rooms by swimmers and surfers.
