We will drive along the N1 through the Du Toit’s Kloof tunnel, joining the beautifully scenic Route 62 and then through the towns of Robertson, Ashton, and Montagu before arriving a short while later at Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. Route 62 is known as the longest Wine Route in the world.
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve-
Upon arrival at the welcome lounge at 12:00 pm, you will receive a refreshment before being transferred to your Game Lodge at Sanbona. Then you will be shown to the dining room for lunch. After lunch, it is time to check-in at your accommodation. In the evening you will be taken for a game drive amid spectacular displays of light as the evening sunsets over the Little Karoo. Game drives are 3 - 3.5 hours and led by a qualified game ranger in a comfortable open Landcruiser 4x4 Truck. During the drive, you will be able to see many different species of plants, animals, big games, and birds. Upon your return, you will be greeted with some pre-dinner drinks and a delicious dinner at the lodge before retiring for the night. Private Wildlife or Game Reserves have a limit to the number of animals they are allowed to have on their game farm.Sanbona Wildlife Reserve-You will be treated to early morning breakfast and a 3-hour game drive. After your last game drive, you will depart your Game Lodge at Sanbona late morning and arrive back at the Welcome Lounge around midday. Your tour guide/driver will be waiting for you at the Lounge to transfer you back to Cape Town.
On route to Cape Town, we travel back along the R62, and guests are welcome to stop for a wine tasting or 2, or even lunch at any one of the many wine estates on this route in either Ashton, Robertson, or Montague. The traveling time back to Cape Town is approximately 3-hours, 30-minutes, depending on whether you would like to stop along the way.
