Day 1: Welcome to Africa!

Welcome to Africa! Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be welcomed by one of our friendly representatives who will transfer you to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Samburu National Reserve. The flight duration will be 1-hour and upon your arrival at Samburu, one of our representatives will welcome you and transfer you to Saruni Samburu Lodge via a game drive. Here you will check-in at your luxury villa and enjoy a meal and relax before your afternoon game drive in Kalama Conservancy, which borders Samburu National Reserve, and covers 200 000 acres of pristine wilderness. 

Your accommodation at Saruni Samburu includes the honeymoon suite with ensuite bathroom, three daily meals/bush meals, soft drinks, beers, house wines and select non-luxury spirits, shared day and night game drives in 4x4 vehicles, guided bush walks, Warrior's Academy, sundowner, picnic,  photographic hide and bird watching.

3-Nights at Saruni Samburu, Kalama Conservancy, Samburu, Kenya

Located in the Kalama Conservancy which borders Samburu National Reserve in Kenya, Saruni Samburu is a deluxe designed lodge with spectacular views over the Northern Frontier District and Mount Kenya. There are six spacious luxury villas which consist of two single-room villas for singles/couples/honeymoons and four two-bedroom villas perfect for families. Single bedroom villas have ensuite bathrooms, dressing rooms, lounge, dining area, and outdoor verandah. Two-bedroom Villas have ensuite bathrooms, dressing rooms, lounge, dining area, outdoor veranda. The lodge has a photographic hide, 2 x swimming pools, Wellness Spa, Curio Shop, Yoga and exercises.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve Safari Activities

Shortly after breakfast, prepare for your early morning safari game drive into Samburu National Reserve where you will encounter various wildlife such as the "Samburu Special Five", such as Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich and Gerenuk. These are all rare animal species you will only find in this part of the country. You may also encounter some of the Big Five animals such as Lion, Elephant, Leopard. In the afternoon before heading back to the lodge, indulge in a picnic lunch in a shady area of the Samburu Reserve. Just before sunset, enjoy a private sundowner for only the two of you, with complimentary champagne on ice, and enjoy the views from the hilltop overlooking the wilderness and catch the sunset. Upon your return to the lodge, a lantern-lit private dinner awaits you on your private balcony under the starlit African sky.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve Safari Activities

Your early morning safari game drive departs soon after breakfast as we continue exploring the abundant wildlife in the Samburu National Reserve. Today we will discover the wildlife along the Ewaso Nyiro River, such as crocodiles, birdlife, bathing elephants and more. After lunch enjoy a guided nature walk and discover animals, plants and caves with rock art paintings. Upon your return to the lodge, a complimentary 30-minutes Back & Neck massage awaits you. In the evening, we will enjoy a game drive in Kalama Conservancy, exploring the wildlife-rich area and ending off the day with a bush dinner under the stars and a night game drive to seek out the nocturnal species in the park. The highlight of your stay will surely be the Samburu Warriors dancing, candles and fire under the African skies.

Day 4: Mara North Conservancy/Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Soon after breakfast and check-out, you will be transferred to the Samburu airstrip for your flight to Masai Mara. The flight duration will be 1-hour, 30-minutes. Upon your arrival, one of our friendly representatives will welcome you and transfer you to either Saruni Mara or Saruni Wild lodges. On your way from the Mara Airstrip to the lodge, enjoy a game drive with a picnic lunch under a shady tree overlooking the hippos in the river, or you may choose the option to proceed straight to the lodge accommodation to relax and enjoy a game drive later in the afternoon in the Mara North Conservancy, which border the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Your 3-night stay at either Saruni Mara or Saruni Wild accommodation includes the honeymoon suite with ensuite bathroom, three daily meals/bush meals, soft drinks, beers, house wines and select non-luxury spirits, shared day and night game drives in 4x4 vehicles, guided bush walks, Warriors academy, sundowner, picnic, and bird watching. 

3-Nights at Saruni Mara or Saruni Wild, Mara North Conservancy, Kenya

Located in the Mara North Conservancy, which shares a border with the Masai Mara National Reserve, Saruni Mara consists of one family villa, one private villa and five cottages and is the only boutique lodge in the Mara. The Mara North Conservancy stretches over 74 000 acres. The 5 classic cottages each have ensuite bathrooms and private verandas. The 1 Family Villa has 1 double room and 1 twin room, both with ensuite bathrooms, fire-place, dining area, lounge and private veranda.

Located in the heart of the Masai Mara Plains, bordering the Lemek Conservancy and the Mara North Conservancy, Saruni Wild is a luxury tented camp offering seclusion and authenticity. Indulge in the unforgettable experience of sleeping under canvas in the midst of the wilderness. There are two double tents and one family tent, both with ensuite bathrooms, hot showers and flushing toilets, private verandas with beautiful views.

Both the lodge and the camp boasts Great Migration encounters during migration season in Masai Mara (from June to October each year).

Day 5: Mara North Conservancy/Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Soon after breakfast prepare for your early morning safari game drive on the lookout for big cats and predators in the Mara, who are seeking out their prey. Thereafter, we return to the lodge for lunch, followed by a wellness treatment in the Maasai Spa. Feeling revitalized and ready for our next activity, we depart for our afternoon game drive to a special area where we will find the largest tower of giraffe. In the evening we return to the lodge for dinner. You may choose the option of a night game drive to seek out the nocturnal animals or you may remain at the lodge and enjoy drinks under the stars on your private deck.

Day 6: Mara North Conservancy/Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

This morning we enjoy a guided bushwalk through the plains surrounding the Saruni Mara, accompanied by a Maasai guide and vehicle. You may choose the option of a game drive instead, up to the top of Kilileoni, the highest mountain in the Serengeti-Masai Mara ecosystem. In the afternoon, discover more of the Mara North and its neighboring conservancies and gain first-hand knowledge of one of the world's most exciting wildernesses. If the weather is favorable, enjoy a bush dinner with Maasai jumping, singing and dancing around the fire.

Day 7: Farewell!

As we come to the end of your luxury honeymoon safari in Kenya, you will enjoy your last breakfast at the lodge/camp. After check-out, you will be transferred to the Mara Airstrip with a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary along the way. Your flight from Mara Airstrip to Nairobi departs at 11:00 am and arrives in Nairobi at 12:20 pm. We bid you a fond farewell until we meet again next time.
