Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be welcomed by one of our friendly representatives who will transfer you to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Samburu National Reserve. The flight duration will be 1-hour and upon your arrival at Samburu, one of our representatives will welcome you and transfer you to Saruni Samburu Lodge via a game drive. Here you will check-in at your luxury villa and enjoy a meal and relax before your afternoon game drive in Kalama Conservancy, which borders Samburu National Reserve, and covers 200 000 acres of pristine wilderness.  Your accommodation at Saruni Samburu includes luxury villa with ensuite bathroom, three daily meals/bush meals, soft drinks, beers, house wines and select non-luxury spirits, shared day and night game drives in 4x4 vehicles, guided bush walks, Warrior's Academy, sundowner, picnic,  photographic hide and bird watching.  3-Nights at Saruni Samburu, Kalama Conservancy, Samburu, Kenya Located in the Kalama Conservancy which borders Samburu National Reserve in Kenya, Saruni Samburu is a deluxe designed lodge with spectacular views over the Northern Frontier District and Mount Kenya. There are six spacious luxury villas which consists of two single-room villas for singles/couples and four two-bedroom villas perfect for families. Single bedroom villas have ensuite bathrooms, dressing rooms, lounge, dining area, and outdoor verandah. Day 2: Samburu National Reserve Safari Activities Shortly after breakfast, prepare for your early morning safari game drive into Samburu National Reserve where you will encounter various wildlife such as the "Samburu Special Five", such as Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich and Gerenuk. These are all rare animal species you will only find in this part of the country. You may also encounter some of the Big Five animals such as Lion, Elephant, Leopard. In the afternoon before heading back to the lodge, indulge in a picnic lunch in a shady area of the Samburu Reserve. Day 3: Samburu National Reserve Safari Activities Your early morning safari game drive departs soon after breakfast as we continue exploring the abundant wildlife in the Samburu National Reserve. Today we will discover the wildlife along the Ewaso Nyiro River, such as crocodiles, birdlife, bathing elephants and more. Enroll in the Warrior's Academy in the afternoon and experience the Samburu villages by learning their traditional activities such as using a bow and arrow, beading and hearing their stories and songs. In the evening, we will enjoy a game drive in Kalama Conservancy, exploring the wildlife-rich area and ending off the day with a bush dinner under the stars and a night game drive to seek out the nocturnal species in the park. The highlight of your stay will surely be the Samburu Warriors dancing, candles and fire under the African skies. Day 4: Mara North Conservancy/Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya Soon after breakfast and check-out, you will be transferred to the Samburu airstrip for your flight to Masai Mara. The flight duration will be 1-hour, 30-minutes. Upon your arrival, one of our friendly representatives will welcome you and transfer you to either Saruni Mara or Saruni Wild lodges. Thereafter, we return to the lodge for lunch, followed by a wellness treatment in the Maasai Spa. Feeling revitalized and ready for our next activity, we depart for our afternoon game drive to a special area where we will find the largest tower of giraffe. Day 6: Mara North Conservancy/Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya This morning we enjoy a guided bushwalk through the plains surrounding the Saruni Mara, accompanied by a Maasai guide and vehicle. You may choose the option of a game drive instead, up to the top of Kilileoni, the highest mountain in the Serengeti-Masai Mara ecosystem. In the afternoon, enroll in our Warrior's academy for wildlife encounters and bush skills studying the crocodiles and hippos of the mara River and discover the traditional cultures of the Maasai people. If the weather is favorable, enjoy a bush dinner with Maasai jumping, singing and dancing around the fire. Day 7: Farewell! As our journey comes to an end, our last morning affords us a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary on our way to the airstrip after breakfast and check-out.
