## Description

From Cape Town it's about a 60-minute drive to Franschhoek, a small town known for its wine and its restaurants. The Huguenots who settled the valley over 300 years ago brought winemaking with them.

 At the Wine Tram office the staff explain how the day works. You then travel around a loop of wine estates by tram and open-air tram-bus, getting off wherever you like. The Wine Tram runs eight lines, and we suggest picking just one for the day, either the Orange or the Purple line, and visiting 5 or 6 estates on it. Each estate shows a different part of the valley, from small boutique farms to large, well-known names. In the evening you're driven back to your hotel in Cape Town.
